Tiguan Comparison

The new Volkswagen Tiguan is one of the few compact SUVs that comes with three rows of seats. Its comfortable ride and responsive handling make it perfect for everyday driving. Other compact SUVs such as the new Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4, and Honda CR-V have their benefits, but they don’t provide the overall value that you get with the new Tiguan.

Volkswagen Tiguan vs. Subaru Forester

The VW Tiguan and Subaru Forester are around the same size, but the Tiguan has slightly more horsepower. Drivers will appreciate its turbocharged 184-horsepower engine, which makes 221 pound-feet of torque for quicker get-up-and-go. The Subaru Forester comes with a 182-horsepower four-cylinder motor that only puts out 176 pound-feet of torque.

Volkswagen Tiguan vs. Toyota RAV4

The Volkswagen Tiguan and Toyota RAV4 share many of the same ride quality and handling characteristics, but the Tiguan comes standard with features that the RAV4 doesn’t. This includes standard heated front seats and an 8-inch digital gauge cluster (VW Digital Cockpit). Drivers who bring a lot of shopping bags or suitcases in their SUV will like that the Tiguan has up to 73.4 cubic feet of cargo space. The RAV4 only has a 69.8 cubic-foot cargo capacity.

Volkswagen Tiguan vs. Honda CR-V

The VW Tiguan gives you more for your money than the Honda CR-V does. Families will appreciate its third row of seats, which enable seven people to come along on trips. The Honda CR-V only comes with two rows and seating for five. Also, the Tiguan’s starting MSRP is around $5,000 less than the CR-V’s base price.

These are just some of the reasons why the new Volkswagen Tiguan should be your next SUV.
