The VW Tiguan and Subaru Forester are around the same size, but the Tiguan has slightly more horsepower. The Subaru Forester comes with a 182-horsepower four-cylinder motor that only puts out 176 pound-feet of torque.

The Volkswagen Tiguan and Toyota RAV4 share many of the same ride quality and handling characteristics, but the Tiguan comes standard with features that the RAV4 doesn’t. The VW Tiguan gives you more for your money than the Honda CR-V does. Families will appreciate its third row of seats, which enable seven people to come along on trips. The Honda CR-V only comes with two rows and seating for five. Also, the Tiguan’s starting MSRP is around $5,000 less than the CR-V’s base price.
